The Blue Ridge Institute & Museum is located on the west side of the Ferrum College campus, 10 miles from Route 220 via Route 40. In travel time, Ferrum is about 45 minutes from both Roanoke and Martinsville, Virginia.

The Blue Ridge Institute & Museum Visitors Center is the brick building (look for the metal plow weather vane on top) on the west side of Route 40 just past the college’s Vaughn Chapel.  Galleries, main offices, and meeting rooms are in the Visitors center.  All tours to the BRI&M’s farm museum also start at the Visitors Center.  There is ample parking for buses and RV’s.

Roanoke, Virginia:

Take 220 South to Rocky Mount, then follow 40 West to Ferrum. Signs will direct you through Rocky Mount, as Route 40 makes many turns through town.

Richmond, Virginia:

Take I64 West to I81 South to Exit 143 / Roanoke (I581 South). I581 South becomes 220 South. Follow 220 South to Rocky Mount. Follow 40 West to Ferrum. From Bedford take 122 South across Smith Mountain Lake and into Rocky Mount. In Rocky Mount follow 40 West to Ferrum.
