Teams, drivers, and trainers come from all over the East Coast to compete in the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival’s Horse & Mule Competitions! Check out our schedule of events to find out when you can see these skilled teams work.

Divisions and Prizes

Divisions:
Light (3,300 lbs and under), Heavy (3,301 lbs and over)

Prizes:
1st – $300     6th – $175
2nd – $275     7th – $150
3rd – $250     8th – $124
4th – $225     9th – $100
5th – $200     10th – $100

Divisions:
Class A (52″ and under), Class B (53″ and over)

Prizes:
1st – $200     2nd – $180
3rd – $160     4th – $140
5th – $120     6th – $100

Divisions:
Horse Single, Horse Team Mule Single, Mule Team

Preregistration for Blue Ridge Folklife Festival Horse & Mule Events is not required, but you can save time by registering your animal(s) online now.

PERMISSIONS AND LIABILITIES:
By submitting this registration form to enter your animals in the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival, October 22, 2022, you are agreeing to the following:

1. Ferrum College, its sponsors, directors, officers, employees, and agents will not be held liable for any injury or damage incurred by myself, my entry(s), my helpers, my animals, or my property before, during, or after the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival.
2. I accept liability and responsibility for any damage or injuries my animals cause to any person or property before, during, or after the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival.
3. I will conduct myself in a safe and courteous manner at all times.
4. I grant Ferrum College the right to photograph, video, and/or record me and my entry(s) at the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival in any medium, and to use my name, photograph, and/or likeness in any reasonable manner, including publication in any medium.
